History and Contextualization of the Program
The Graduate Program in Nursing of School of Nursing - UNICAMP was created in 1999 at the Master level, and expanded in 2008 to the PhD. Since its inception, at the Masters level, 309 masters have been graduated (from 2001, year of the first degree, to 2018); in the PhD level, since 2011 (year of the first degree) until 2018, 107 doctors were qualified. With the exception of 01 students enrolled in the Masters program in 2015, from Chile, 01 in Portugal, in 2014 and 02 in Chile, in 2017, all students come from different regions of Brazil, predominantly from the Southeast and of the State of São Paulo.
The expansion of activities with innovation characteristics has also been verified in the Graduate Program, benefiting from intra and interinstitutional partnerships. These elements favor the visibility of the Program and the multidisciplinary character of the Course. It is also worth mentioning the participation of faculties in direct assistance, advisory, coordination and participation activities in Groups Research in many places inside and outside the campus.
The Extension activities carried out by the faculty strengthen the social laboratories that configure the scenario of teaching, research and extension. The research generated in these environments has important repercussion in practice and, thus, contribute to significant improvements in the respective services. The incorporation by faculties from the Graduate Program of new tools of work in teaching activities, such as distance learning and telehealth, has also broadened the potential for the Program's solidarity. Nationally and internationally, the Program is designed for its bibliographic production, with publications in periodicals with high bibliometric indexes, as well as through its teaching staff, which stands out by its partnership with students and international researchers.
Since its inception, the Program has evolved significantly, especially with the consolidation of the PhD Program, increasing qualification of its faculty - currently under renovation, due to retirements and new faculties - and a qualitative increase in the production of knowledge , which allowed its rise to note 5, during the three-year evaluation (2007-2009), and the maintenance of this concept in the four-year evaluation (2013-2016).
