GRADUATE NURSING PROGRAM

Program History and Contextualization

The Graduate Program in Nursing (PPG-Enf) at the School of Nursing (FEnf) at Unicamp was created in 1999, at the Master level, and expanded in 2008 for the PhD. Since its creation, at the Master's level, 293 masters have been qualified (from 2001, the year of the first degree, to 2017); at the PhD level, from 2011 (year of the first degree) until 2017, 93 doctors have been qualified. With the exception of 01 freshmen in the Master's Degree in 2015, from Chile, 01 freshmen from Portugal in the PhD, in 2014 and 02 freshmen from the PhD in Chile, in 2017, all records from different regions of Brazil, with a predominance of the Southeast and Southeast regions. State of São Paulo.

The expansion of activities with innovative characteristics has also been seen in the PPG-Enf, benefiting from intra and interinstitutional partnerships. These elements favor the visibility of the Program and the multidisciplinary nature of the Course. It is also worth mentioning the participation of PPG-Enf professors in activities of direct assistance, advisory, coordination and participation in Research Groups in various locations internal and external to the HEI.

The Extension activities carried out by the faculty strengthen the social laboratories that configure the teaching, research and extension scenario. The researches generated in these environments have important repercussions in practice and, thus, contribute to significant improvements in the respective services. The incorporation by PPG-Enf professors of new work tools in teaching activities, such as distance courses and telehealth, has also expanded the potential for the Program's solidarity. Nationally and internationally, the Program is projected for its bibliographic production, with publications in journals with high bibliometric indexes, as well as through its faculty, which stands out for its partnership with students and international researchers.

Since its creation, the Program has shown significant evolution, especially with the consolidation of the PhD Course, the increasing qualification of its teaching staff - currently under renovation, due to retirements and the entry of new professors - and an increase, mainly qualitative, in the production of knowledge, which made it possible for it to reach grade 5, in the 2007-2009 three-year period, and to maintain this concept in the 2013-2016 four-year period.
